However, TrendForce Deputy Director of In-depth Research, Wu Yating believes that the market's NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 low-voltage reduction plan has a temporary price ratio and competition among Chinese businessmen, coupled with the tight memory supply, there are still changes in whether the shipment volume can be as expected by the market.
TrendForce expects that the NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 special edition will be launched in the second half of the year, and has not yet attracted high interest from Chinese market buyers. In part, the price is more approachable. The Ascend 910c is sufficiently affordable to use, and it is considered a more cost-effective alternative. Ascend 910c will gradually expand and gradually replace the 910B solution in the near future.
Wu Yating analyzed that NVIDIA's memory adoption strategy is to design diversified suppliers for different product categories. The HBM used in high-level AI GPUs is mainly supplied by SK Hynix and Micron as the second supplier. The LPDDR category is mainly supported by Micron as the main partner, and GDDR is favored by Samsung.
RTX PRO 6000 adopts 96GB GDDR7, which is the main product line of NVIDIA's medium and low-level GPUs, locks AI recommendations, edge-end deep learning training, or imaging, simulation and other applications. However, the supply chain has also encountered challenges, as Samsung is NVIDIA's only GDDR7 memory supplier and continues to supply and feed, which may affect the overall production and supply capabilities of RTX PRO 6000. Taking into account the above factors, the actual shipping situation remains to be observed.
NVIDIA cooperated with several ODM and OEM partners in May to promote the MGX AI server machine equipped with RTX PRO 6000, adopt PCIe Gen5 interface, focusing on expanding corporate customers from cloud to edge AI applications, and will continue to use MGX module reference design to supply the Chinese market in the future.
