NVIDIA and OpenAI announced on the 22nd that it has reached an intentional book to plan to establish a milestone strategic partnership, deploy an NVIDIA system with a power capacity of at least 10 GW for OpenAI's next-generation AI-based facilities to train and operate the next-generation model and advance towards the deployment of superintelligence.
To support this deployment, including data centers and power capacity, NVIDIA plans to invest up to $10 billion in OpenAI. The first stage goal is to go online in the second half of 2026, adopting NVIDIA's Vera Rubin platform.
OpenAI specifies NVIDIA to become the first computing and network strategy partner for AI factory growth planning, OpenAI's model and basic facility software blueprints, and cooperate with NVIDIA's hardware and software products. NVIDIA and OpenAI look forward to finalizing the details of the new stage strategy partnership in the next few weeks.
"NVIDIA and OpenAI have been pushing each other for more than 10 years, a breakthrough from the first DGX supercomputer to ChatGPT," said NVIDIA executive chief Huang Rensheng. "This investment and infrastructure partnership symbolizes the next flight, namely, deploying 10 GW to drive the next era of intelligence."
Huang Renshaw also said when interviewed by foreign media CNBC that the 10 GW scale is equivalent to 4 million to 5 million GPUs, which is equivalent to NVIDIA's total shipments this year, "twice that of last year," he said.

As the new plan was announced, NVIDIA's stock price rose by nearly 4% on the 22nd, and its market value instantly increased by nearly US$17 billion, and the overall price was close to US$4.5 trillion.
