The Times reported that Chelsea faces 74 charges and football agents are worried about being publicly named and punished.
After the FA filed 74 charges against Chelsea, there has been growing tension among football agents. These allegations include undeclared broker fees and the use of an unlicensed intermediary.
Chelsea's new owner, Burley, proactively reported undeclared payments in the Abramovich era and the use of unlicensed intermediaries. All of these transactions will be detailed at an independent regulatory committee hearing.
Licensed brokers may also face disciplinary action if they are considered to have charged undeclared fees. In addition, Chelsea has been accused of paying fees to unlicensed middlemen to facilitate a transfer, who may have been named in the committee’s judgment.
In 2008, Luton Town was deducted 10 points for violating brokers' regulations, when the names of some unlicensed intermediaries were published.
Anonymous broker said: "Agents are discussing what will happen next and whether people involved in the transaction will be named or charged. Payment behaviors in these transfers are very common in other countries, so it is not surprising that this happens in the Premier League."
It is understood that Chelsea is expected to be fined rather than deductions for sports sanctions such as points, as the alleged violations occur under different ownership rights and they claim to have fully cooperated with the investigation.
