Our last game at Emirates Stadium showed how dangerous our offense can be when we get into the form. We started a little slow to get off against Leeds United, but then took control of the game and scored the goal they deserved. There were some great goals, so it was a great day in the end.
Victor (Yorcres) scored two goals and I feel like he's been waiting for this moment because as a striker you want to open your goal account early so that really boosts confidence. The first ball is very powerful. He showed all his technical qualities and physical qualities—you can see his desire and how much he wants to score. I'm sure we'll see more of this season.
He also gave a very good penalty kick. We now have a lot of penalty kickers to choose from, so we will have a list of penalty orders within. But it also depends on how it feels on the field at the time. So if someone feels in that moment, we know they can stand up. There is always discussion on the field, and we know how to deal with it.
On the day of Leeds United, it was great to see Eze joining and step onto the court - how happy he smiled! Everyone could see how happy we were to come here and sign up for him. I think it shows how really every player wants to join us, so it's a good sign.
He is a great guy, he has really enjoyed it so far and performed well in training. We've only seen him on the court for about 20 minutes so far, so we're all looking forward to seeing him perform more, and I'm sure the fans are the same.
In that Leeds United game, I had to leave the game due to a shoulder injury. I hurt it when I landed, and it hurts very much. I thought I could go on, but eventually I had to end up with injuries. But now it's fully recovered, I feel good at Anfield and made two appearances for Norway last week.
We have won five games and five in the qualifiers, so the situation is very favorable. For a long time, participating in major events has been our primary goal. We have never entered the finals of the competition since the 2000 European Cup and the 1998 World Cup. For us, if we can advance this time, it will be a huge achievement. Participating in the competition with Norway is also one of my biggest dreams. Hopefully we can achieve this time.
Many of our players had positive experiences last week - Mikel (Merino) was so excited after scoring a hat trick for Spain! A lot of players have scored goals and assists, and I think that helps boost morale a few weeks after we leave the club. It's the part of the season that there are games every three or four days, so let's make sure we keep moving forward and pushing.
Let's start with declaring our strength against Nottingham Forest today. They certainly changed head coaches recently, but we will be ready to know what we are going to face. Our coaching staff will prepare us for the situation we face, so for our players, the new coach is not much different. The key is that we show our traits and beliefs and make an impact.
Finally, you guys may have seen my new hairstyle last week in the International Match Day mission! There is no story behind this, basically I just want to change my hairstyle. I have always wanted to try to cut a little short. There is a buddy in the national team who is also a barber. He convinced me to cut it, so we did it! Last Tuesday (the last game) turned out well, so hopefully good luck continues!
