Mexican Football Association Gender and Diversity Committee imposed financial penalties on social media remarks by Javier Hernandez.

Mexican Football Association (FMF) issued a statement saying: "A few days ago on TikTok social platform, the remarks made by player Little Pea have fueled gender stereotypes, which are considered violent in the media and violated gender equality in the sports field. Therefore, the FMF Gender and Diversity Committee announced that it has initiated an investigation process to prevent and punish such behaviors. It has decided to impose fines and warnings on Little Pea. If it is reoffended, it will take stricter measures."

Little Pea's remarks at the time include "Women should not be afraid to show feminine traits, do not refuse male guidance", "Women are failing, you are erasing masculinity and making society oversensitive", and "You women need to learn to accept and respect masculinity". In another video, he said: "You want men to support their families, but they think cleaning is patriarchal oppression, which is really interesting."

Mexico's first female president, Claudia Sinbaum, called these remarks full of gender discrimination: "Little Pea is an excellent player, but he still needs to learn a lot on women's issues. As a mother, grandmother and housewife, I am also the supreme commander of the army, women can become any role they want to be."

Guadalajara Club issued a statement: "Oppose any words and deeds that strengthen stereotypes, restrict freedom and respect." Although Little Pea did not name it, the club stated that it will take corresponding measures in accordance with internal regulations and reaffirm its commitment to equal development, gender justice and respect for all.
