Former Manchester City goalkeeper Scott Carson recently accepted an interview with the club's official media and thanked the fans for their support during his six years with the team.

Carson initially joined Manchester City on loan in 2019 and converted to a permanent transfer in 2021. Although he only made two appearances during his time with the club, Carson was regarded as a key cog for his attitude, professionalism and support for players such as Ederson and Ortega.

Carson said: "The fan response to me has always been positive, and I felt a strong resonance from the moment I signed. I had a great time here and am forever grateful for it."

This special bond with the fans continues in his This was especially highlighted when he came on as a substitute against Sporting CP in March 2022. When the game was coming to an end and Manchester City was far ahead on the total score but the score was still 0-0, Carson came on as a substitute for Ederson, and he was greeted with warm cheers from all sides of the Etihad Stadium.

Carson said: "This surprised me a little! I kept looking at the time and the minutes were passing by. I thought it would be embarrassing to only play a few minutes, but I ended up getting a lot of playing time and made a good save on the court."

"I'm actually not sure what happened because I don't think I've ever come on as a substitute before! This experience is great."

During his time at Manchester City, Carson established a deep friendship with Ederson, and he even took the initiative to support the Brazilian national goalkeeper on and off the court. Carson said: "When I first came here, his English was not fluent, but we could communicate with each other even if we didn't talk. I often laughed at him, and he often laughed at me! I was always there as long as he needed it, and I hope that I really helped him during his years of playing."

Carson witnessed Manchester City's first Champions League. Like many Manchester City fans present, his memory of that game was somewhat blurry due to the excitement and nervousness at the time. Carson said: "To be honest, everything seemed to go by in a flash. It was a close game. We knew Inter Milan was a strong team and the process was not as smooth as expected."

"My most profound memory is Ederson's save at the end of the game, which was obviously crucial, and I was very excited for him to make those saves."
