Leptospirosis canine, this disease is a zoonotic disease caused by pathogenic Leptospirosis. Dogs mainly show symptoms such as hemorrhagic jaundice, high fever, hemorrhagic qualities, miscarriage, skin necrosis, and edema. This disease occurs mostly in tropical and subtropical areas. With the cross-regional transactions of dogs, it also happens frequently in northern my country.

Symptoms of dogs of all ages can be infected. The incidence rate is higher for male dogs than female dogs. The incubation period is 5-15 days.

Acute cases may occur suddenly, the body is weak, the body is not eaten, vomited, the body temperature is increased (39.5-40℃), depression, hindquarter muscle stiffness and pain, reluctance to stand and move, difficulty breathing, and jaundice or bleeding of varying degrees of visual mucosa. Generally, the body fails within 2 days and the body temperature drops.

Subacute symptoms are characterized by fever, vomiting, anorexia, dehydration jaundice and mucosal necrosis. Irregular hemorrhagic spots and jaundice can be seen in the mucosa of the sick dog's mouth; symptoms of conjunctivitis can be seen in the eyes. Mucus secretions can be seen at the corners of the eyes. At the same time, cough, asthma and difficulty breathing can be seen. Some dogs with thirst and polyuria are present. Dogs with subacute infection recover after about 2-3 weeks.

Chronic symptoms mostly redirect with acute or subacute symptoms. It often occurs with chronic liver, kidney and gastrointestinal symptoms, and most of them can be recovered through symptomatic treatment. A few died of uremia, cirrhosis, and physical failure.

Diagnosis of dog end spirochete disease

According to clinical anthropology, leptochete can be seen in urinary mesocosm and serological tests for diagnosis.

Treatment of canine endospirosis

(1) Penicillin and streptomycin have good efficacy in this disease. Penicillin is 40,000-80,000 units/kg body weight, and streptomycin is 10-15 mg/kg body weight mixed with intramuscular injection 2 times/day.

(2) Symptom-based treatment. Replenish fluid, sugar and alkali. Treatments such as eliminating gastrointestinal symptoms, stopping bleeding, and eliminating skin and mucous membrane ulcers. Generally, 200-500 ml of 5% glucose saline and 10-40 ml of 5% sodium bicarbonate injection can be mixed with intravenous infusion. For antiemetic, you can inject 2 mg/kg body weight intramuscularly; or take oral morphine tablets 2 mg/kg body weight 2 times per day. To stop hemostasis, use Vk12 mg/kg body weight or VK31 mg/kg body weight to inject intramuscularly twice per day. Iodine glycerol can be applied to oral mucosal ulcers.

Disease prevention

The currently commonly used leptospira multivalent vaccine, the immune procedures and methods are the same as canine distemper vaccine.

In addition, we must do a good job in rat killing. Mice are the storage hosts of this disease. To prevent sick dogs from contacting other dogs, environmental disinfection and isolation and feeding should be carried out.
