The Daily Mail reported that Liverpool is preparing to offer to introduce Ekitic, with all signs indicating that the French U21 international is eager to join.

Liverpool continued to discuss the target of forward signings internally this week, and had varying degrees of contact with many players including Isaac, Visa, Watkins and Osmaine.

Swedish international Isaac was originally the number one target. If Newcastle reveals its trading intention, Liverpool is even willing to break the team's history transfer fee record again. But the Reds soon found that the deal was difficult, and they turned to Ekitic in Frankfurt. Newcastle once offered £70 million for the 22-year-old striker, but the payment structure was not up to par with the requirements and was £16 million lower than the termination fee. The Magpies' senior management also realized that the players were hesitant to move to northeast England.

This opens the door for Liverpool, and funds are never an obstacle for them. Developments show that it seems like a matter of time before the deal is reached. The Reds, which have invested heavily in signing a thoroughly revamped lineup this summer, are seeking funding to recover. West Ham United is interested in both Elliott and Taylor Morton, with a package price of about 55 million pounds.

Louis Dias' future is also pending, Liverpool is unlikely to offer a new contract, and it remains to be seen whether Bayern Munich will seek to buy the Colombia winger again after his first round offer was rejected.
